AN ISLAND GETAWAY AT PALM TREE VILLAS is proud to be recognized by the State of Florida as a 'Green Lodging' facility.
Over the years our continuing efforts at sustainability and eco-friendly operations have included simple practices such as active recycling and towel & linen reuse programs, but have also included an investments in energy efficient CFL lighting and micro-irrigation.
In 2009 we took a major step towards use of alternative energy by making a significant investment in solar electric and solar hot water technologies. We now partner with the much-loved Florida sunshine to generate about a third of our electricity needs and to heat all of our hot water.

The Florida Green Lodging Program is a voluntary initiative of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that designates and recognizes lodging facilities that make a commitment to conserve and protect Florida's natural resources. The program's environmental guidelines allow the hospitality industry to evaluate its operations, set goals and take specific actions to continuously improve environmental performance.
